Bombardier's Bogie Division at Crewe is awarded RISAS certification by RIQC Limited RIQC limited (RIQC) has approved Bombardier Transportation at Crewe for bogie, associated suspension and brake component overhaul under the Railway Industry Supplier Approval Scheme (RISAS).
RISAS is a cross-industry scheme, which provides transferable assurance of the quality of the suppliers of critical products and services for rolling stock overhaul. It provides a third party assessment process covering the shop floor attitudes as well as the processes of suppliers. Crucially, it removes the need to have separate individual audits of a supplier by multiple industry 'duty holders'.
Brian Harrop, Site Quality Manager at Bombardier Crewe said, "We are very proud to be awarded RISAS approval. This shows we meet the highest safety and assurance standards on the basis of one single assessment and approval process. At the same time we are certain that our RISAS status will help us to reduce costs and improve the products and services we supply. We look forward to expanding the scope of our RISAS certification, to cover the full range of critical products and services we supply."
Ken Mee, Managing Director of RIQC said, "Bombardier was assessed and approved by RIQC. The assessment of suppliers is a comprehensive and focused process of the industry's requirements. We are very pleased to have been selected to act as the Bombardier Transportation RISAB and are delighted that the positive attitude and hard work of all those involved in the assessment, achieved a successful outcome. We look forward to working with Bombardier as they expand their scope of RISAS certification, to cover the full range of critical products and services that they supply."
